1P offers new login only when vault is opened
Hi,
I got 2 vaults in 1P. However if I visit a new page with a newly created login 1P is no more offering me to safe it. I first have to open one of my vaults then 1P offers to safe a new login in a dialog box without my action. Is that a normal behaviour?

Hi @hallygally,
I'm sorry you're having some trouble saving new Logins!
...if I visit a new page with a newly created login 1P is no more offering me to safe it.
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by a "newly created login"? Do you mean you don't currently have a Login item in 1Password for the account you're signing into on that website? Are you signing into an existing account on that site from the normal login form, or are you registering for a new account on that site?
I first have to open one of my vaults then 1P offers to safe a new login in a dialog box without my action.
I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean about needing to open one of your vaults first. Are you saying that if 1Password is locked when you sign into the website, it doesn't prompt you to save a new Login item? And if you then unlock 1Password and sign into that site again, 1Password asks if you want to save a Login?
If you can give us some more specific details about all that (i.e. the exact steps you're taking, what you expect to happen, and what happens instead), we should have a much better understanding of what's going on. Thanks in advance! :)

Hi @Drew_AG ,
sorry for my loose information. You already got it right"are you registering for a new account on that site?"
Yes, I create a new account for a site I have not visited before. So I get a new login then. 1P should offer me now to safe it. But first I have to unlock/open 1P otherwise it does nothing.
“Are you saying that if 1Password is locked when you sign into the website, it doesn't prompt you to save a new Login item? And if you then unlock 1Password and sign into that site again, 1Password asks if you want to save a Login?”
Yes, exact.

Hi @hallygally,
Thanks for clarifying that!
1Password should still offer to save new Login items when it's locked (although it would ask you to unlock it first, before it actually saves the Login item). When you register for an account on a new site, are you using the password generator in 1Password mini? If so, and if you click the 'Fill' button to fill the generated password in the website registration form, it's possible you're running into an issue with a certain version of the 1Password extension in your browser. In that case, can you please let us know a few more details:
- What web browser are you using, and what version?
- What version of the 1Password extension is installed in your browser?
Thanks!
