Warning about unidentified developer on 1Password 6.0

This is a about a version bought on the website not the appstore.

Pushed the button on 1password to upgrade to the latest version (6.0) I got a warning about version 6.0 being from an unidentified developer.

Does this mean that somebody upstream have slipped me a fake version and stolen all my passwords?

    Hi @johnrohde,

    Please have a look in System Preferences in the Security and Privacy section. Do your settings look like mine?

    If you have 'Mac App Store' selected, you will be notified when you attempt to install an app from outside the Mac App Store (which is what I suspect you saw). AgileBits is an identified developer, so you should not see this prompt if you have option 2 selected (as in the screenshot).
