All syncing between MacBook Pro, iPhone 6 and iPad mini3 work but I can't see passwords on iPad. I got to Vaults/Primary/ and it shows that I have 79 Items, but I can't get to them!

1Password Version: 5.4.3
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 9.2
Sync Type: Wi-Fi
Referrer: forum-search:1Password syncing with iPhone and iPad, but I am not able to see my passwords on my iPad!

  • Hi @JackieK,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. It sounds like you are looking for the 'categories' button:

    Categories tab overview

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Sorry, but you're showing me an iPhone. My problem is on my iPad and Categories does not show! I don't think I have the Pro version, but it is a paid version and, as of late this afternoon, up-to-date now. It won't sync with my computer unless I'm near it - otherwise, I have to sync with the Cloud. I guess that's OK. Anyhow, if I knew how to attach photos to this discussion, I could send some (probably tomorrow) so you could see.

    Hi @JackieK,

Sorry for the confusion here! The display is slightly different on iPad vs. iPhone, but all the same stuff is there.

On an iPhone, the Favorites, Categories, Organize and Settings tabs are on the bottom; on an iPad, they're on the left. Look for the filing cabinet icon in the middle of the grey strip on the left side.

At no place on the iPad does "Categories" appear.

@JackieK: Aha, that explains it. Sorry for the confusion! It sounds like you have no unlocked the Pro Features, which includes organizational things like the Categories view. All items can still be accessed under...well, All Items or by searching, but you will not be able to use Categories without the Pro upgrade. I hope this helps! :)

When I tried to "restore" the app, I get a message saying, "To restore a purchase for this app, you must be signed in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the app." My Apple ID Is fine, I am not given the opportunity to re-sign in anywhere! Wondering if I should delete the app altogether and then re-download. How can I find out my purchase history?

  • Hi @JackieK,

Could you please confirm for me that you are running v6 of 1Password for iOS?

(iOS) Which version of 1Password am I running?

If you are indeed running 1Password 6 you should see a screen just like the one Vee posted above... Do you see the row of icons that the red arrow is pointing to? The one in the middle there, that looks like a filing cabinet, is the "categories" screen. The icon doesn't actually say "categories" on it:

Deleting the app also deletes any unsynced data (and syncing is not enabled by default), so we'd recommend extreme caution with that line of thinking. If you're going to uninstall/reinstall we'd highly recommend making a backup first:

Creating and restoring 1Password backups in iTunes (iOS)

You can only restore the Pro features if you've purchased them. All iOS app purchases and in-app purchases are handled through Apple's App Store. You can find an article on purchase history from Apple here:

See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC - Apple Support

Please note that the base 1Password for iOS app is free, so that'll show as a "purchase" even though nothing was paid for it. What you're looking for is an in-app purchase for the Pro features.

    Thanks.

According to the updates on the App Store, 6.2. Don't know if it's a Pro version or not, but, even without Pro, if I can't access the logins on the iPad, it does me no good. I don't have an Apple Watch, don't need additional Vaults (at least now)... I just need it to do the basic functions. Can somebody tell me how to post screen shots so I can share what I am seeing?! Thanks.

  • Hi @JackieK,

The Pro features are not required to view your logins. You can learn about how to take a screenshot here:

    How to take a screenshot

(select the iOS tab if it is not already selected)

To attach a screenshot to a reply here use the "earmarked page" icon just above the reply box:

From there select Choose Files (button) and then Photo Library.

Thanks @JackieK. You do have the categories icon. I can see it in your screenshot. I've taken one of your images and drawn an arrow to it and added some text next to it for you.

It is all the way to the left of the screen, half way down.

    I hope that helps!

That should have been a "!", not "$".
