@aamotlagh in order to help you we need more information about your setup. Please tell us:

    • What version of 1P for Mac you are using (the link will tell you how to find that information)
    • Your OS X version number
    • The version numbers of Chrome and Safari that you're using
    • The 1Password Browser Extension versions in Chrome and Safari (the link will tell you how to find that information)
    • Whether you have the problem only with the Amazon login, or whether all other logins also fail

It would also be relevant to know how you're trying to fill in the login (for example, are you going to the relevant page and using the ⌘\ shortcut or are you clicking on open and fill in 1Password?).

@aamotlagh: Indeed, I actually just spent a good chunk of change on Amazon (as I do more often than I'd like to admit), and didn't run into any login issues there.

Unfortunately without some basic information it's hard to say what might be going wrong in your case and how we might right it! Please tell me the OS, 1Password, browser, and extension versions you're using, the exact steps you're taking, and what is (or is not) happening the way you expect so we can figure out the best plan of action.

The more information you can give, the better. For instance, are you having trouble with specific sites, or on a particular device? If you're having trouble with a certain URL, be sure to include that information. Often simply manually saving the login will save additional information that will allow 1Password to fill better the next time. Thanks in advance! :)

Same problem. It appears that amazon.co.uk has updated its login page, and the extension now no longer autofills username or password.

    1Password Version: 6.0.1
    Extension Version: 4.5.2
    Browser: Safari 9.0.2
OS Version: OSX El Capitan 10.11.2
    Sync Type: Dropbox

Update tested this with Chrome Version 47.0.2526.111 (64-bit) and it works, so I infer this is an issue with the Safari extension.

Update rebooted the Mac and it seems to be working again.

Aha! Did you perhaps simply have Safari running for a long time? I find that I have trouble with it too, and restarting it (and or the Mac) clears things up. Sometimes it won't even load the website.

Anyway, thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that all is well. It sounds like you should be all set, but don't hesitate to reach out if we can be of further assistance. We're always here to help! :)

I've just started seeing this problem too. I've tried saving a new login and still doesn't work. I have logins for other Amazon sites set up amazon.de etc. These never used to show up in the panel for amazon.co.uk, but do now, don't know if this has something to do with it.

    Hi @jeffpaff,

I'm sorry you're having some trouble with the 1Password extension! To help us get to the bottom of that, can you please let us know the following:

    • What version of Mac OS X are you running?
    • What exact version of the 1Password app is installed on your Mac?
    • Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
    • What web browser are you using, and what exact version?
    • What version of the 1Password extension is installed in your browser?
    • Is the problem happening with one specific Login item, or with all of your Login items? (Or possibly just with your Amazon Login items?)
    • What are the exact steps you normally take to have 1Password fill your Amazon login credentials?
    • What happens if you click on the URL field of that Login item in the main 1Password app?
    • What happens if you open the Amazon website by choosing its Login item from the 1Password extension in the browser?
    • What happens if you go to the Amazon sign-in page first, and then choose the matching Login item from the 1Password extension?
    • When using the extension, do you click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar, or do you use the ⌘\ keyboard shortcut?

Any other details you can provide about the steps you take, what used to happen, and what happens now will be very helpful for us. Thanks in advance! :)

    Replies in order:

    10.11.3

    6.0.1

    Mac App Store

    Safari 9.0.3

    4.4.3

The problem only appears to affect Amazon logins, although I can log in to amazon.com ok, but not amazon.co.uk or amazon.de. Amazon.com has a different looking login page.

I normally just click on the 1Password icon and click the appropriate login item.

Clicking on the URL in the main 1Password app has the same problem.

Opening the website by choosing the login item from the extension shows the same problem.

Going to the sign-in page and choosing the login item is what I normally do.

I click the icon to use the extension.

I don't see this problem with either Chrome or Firefox.

    Hi @jeffpaff,

Thank you very much for the information! If it works correctly in Chrome and Firefox, then at least we know the problem is specific to the interaction between 1Password and Safari. I suspect the issue is related to having an older version of the 1Password extension installed in Safari. Let's try installing the latest version to see if that helps:

    • Open Safari and go to the menu option for Safari > Preferences.
    • Select the Extensions tab, then select the 1Password extension.
    • Click the Uninstall button, then confirm you want to uninstall it.
    • After uninstalling the older extension, you can install the latest version from our extension download site.

The Safari Extension Gallery currently still has an older version of the 1Password extension, so please make sure you install it from our own extension site to make sure you get the latest one. Does the problem still happen with the latest extension installed? Let us know how it all goes, thanks! :)
