One-Time Password Secret does not ignore spaces

Bug identified:

Setup one-time password for google, dropbox etc in 1Password and copied the Secret from the providers setup page. This always comes with spaces between blocks of characters.

The resulting One-Time Password is correct on Windows (and I assume Mac) but on iOS it shows a totally different one-time password.

This is seen by having both open at the same time (PC and iPhone for example).

Checking the Secret value in the login reveals that the iOS is html formating the spaces and this is included when attempting to generate the One-Time Password.

Fix is to remove the spaces on Windows. Once done and sync'd then the One-Time Password is the same on all devices.

  • Hi @sphinxsm,

Thanks for taking the time to report this. Yes, the secret should not have spaces in it, so we should probably be ignoring those on iOS. I'll let our development team know about this.

    Thanks!

    No prob.

Love the product and looking forward to the Team Edition coming out with more substantial features (i.e. Chrome Plugin for Team Edition) so I can get company onto it as well.

    Regards,
