Hi @psion
great to hear you like 1Password! :)
Most issues and question are handled in our forums but if there is any problem that can't be handled here we can find other means of communication.
If you could please detail your questions here I'd be happy to help answer them.0 -
When/if I choose DropBox as my sync preference, would all devices be in sync? (Even though they have different iCloud accounts)
.... Is it just a matter of using the same Dropbox account and all will sync in the background?
And, I thought I read it would not sync to the windows desktop version...... But .... I thought I also read if I use Dropbox it would!0 -
Hi @psion,
Dropbox works totally independently of iCloud. As long as you use the same Dropbox account on each device it doesn't matter what iCloud account you use for syncing.
Windows cannot sync with iCloud, but it can sync with Dropbox. 1Password for Windows and 1Password for iOS can sync with each other using Dropbox. You can read more here:
Syncing 1Password for iOS
I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
Ben

I'm sure I understand.
What about creating custom fields, adding another password field and perhaps extra pinn#s.

What about photos?0 -
Of coarse I have another question:
I believe I'm going to want to use the Dropbox sync option.
I have iCloud sync on now, what's the procedure to use Dropbox without duplicating what's already there.0 -
Hi @psion,
with Pro features you can add custom fields to any item. These custom fields can also be password fields so you can add extra PINs via a custom password field.
Do you mean attachments with photos? Unfortunately it is not possible to add attachments using the iOS app. You need a desktop client (Mac or Windows) for that. But Pro features allow you to view attachments.

Awesome, for the custom fields!
Can u explain this viewing of attachments?
Is it a doc. that's save within a field that can be viewed?
That would be cool if we can save and view docs within a field0 -
@psion attachments are documents or photos that are belonging to an item. Existing attachments that have been added to an item on a on Mac or Windows can be viewed on iOS. These attached items can be of any type - although there are limitations what the OS can display. Images and PDFs work perfectly fine, and so do Word documents. There is also no maximum number of attachments you can add to an item.
Hope that answers your question.

"Item" I presume u r referring to an new entry, such as a "card"
And this can only b added using the desktop app but view on any device.
Can that doc be edited?0 -
@psion logins are items, so are passwords, credit cards, secure notes, etc.
Items can be created in every 1Password app. Items can have attachments. Take a look at the item editing of this login:Can you spot where you can add attachments to that login item?
Attachments can not be edited. They are read-only and can only be attached (on desktop), viewed or deleted.
Hope that makes things clearer.

Also thanks bwoodruff & Winnie
Is their an option to select/change the icon0 -
Hi @psion,
icons of items can only be edited on 1Password for Mac or Windows. I'd recommend however to turn on Rich Icons (Settings > General) if you haven't already. This will automatically display nice icons for almost every login based on the website URL you entered for the login.
Hope that helps.

That desktop version seems very steep in price, ouch! :'(

@psion compared to the mobile versions, the desktop apps like 1Password for Mac are much more fully featured; there's just a lot more power there that we can use that isn't available on a device that fits in your pocket (for example, browser extensions, system-wide menus, and advanced editing).
We want you to be happy with your purchase. At AgileBits, we don’t outsource anything to save money. Every decision we make is in service of amazing customers like you, without whom we couldn’t continue to exist.
The price point we have established for 1Password was chosen so that we can sustain our business for as long as our customers will have us. And because we owe so much to you, we are always receptive to feedback, always looking to improve. We changed to a freemium pricing model for our mobile applications and that has been something that’s really worked well for our customers. Because we use any excuse to celebrate, we also frequently put 1Password on sale or collaborate with like-minded developers on a promotion. While we are grateful every time someone tells us that 1Password is worth many times what it costs, we’re also very generous with discounts and try to make 1Password accessible to everyone.
We believe very strongly in our software, and feel that it is invaluable. Security can be inconvenient, and it can be boring. 1Password makes securing our digital lives so painless, that each of us on the AgileBits team would be lost without it.
