CloudFlare

Something really strange happened when I went to Login to my Tunnelbear VPN app from inside IPassword on my IPhone 6. I received an error message page from CloudFlare-Dallas. It said my webpage was unavailable. What's CloudFlare and why did it show the IP address 166.173.185.2 ?

  • Hi @deebee,

    From CouldFlare's Wikipedia page:

    CloudFlare, Inc. is a U.S. company that provides a content delivery network and distributed domain name server services, sitting between the visitor and the CloudFlare user's hosting provider, acting as a reverse proxy for websites. Its network protects, speeds up, and improves availability for a website or mobile application with a change in DNS. CloudFlare is headquartered in San Francisco, California, with additional offices in London and Singapore.[1]

    It appears TunnelBear uses CloudFlare for their content distribution. You may want to reach out to TunnelBear directly if their website is not working properly. :)

    Thanks!

    @deebee,

    You are very welcome. I did a Google search for CloudFlare. :) I already knew they were a CDN (content distribution network) but I wanted to have a little more background to give you.
