I had to restore my iPhone to factory settings, and I need to access my old vault.

I have tried restoring it through iCloud and Wi-Fi, neither of which is working. Help!

  • Hi @redo,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. By default your 1Password device is only stored on the device you create it on. Restoring your phone erases all of the data on it.

Did you make a backup of 1Password before restoring the phone?

Creating and restoring 1Password backups in iTunes (iOS)

Do you sync your 1Password data with other devices?

If the answer to both of these questions is no, then it sounds as though you've likely erased your only copy of your 1Password data. :( One other thing you could try would be restoring a backup of the device itself:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

However that may also restore the problem you were having that necessitated wiping your phone. In that case you'd need to backup 1Password, wipe the phone again, and then restore the 1Password backup.

    I hope that helps!

    Ben
