I would like to delete recent purchase and try free app first
I thought this would be easy to use but it is not intuitive at all. I am not happy with my purchase and would like to be reimbursed for my purchase that I made today and try the free app first.

Purchases from the App Store are completely controlled by Apple. AgileBits can't do anything about refunds, in fact they don't even have any details about who purchased.
You would have to ask Apple about a refund (I am assuming you have the iOS version, since you posted in that forum). Trouble is that it can be extremely difficult, perhaps impossible, to repurchase an item if Apple has made a refund.
Sorry not to have good news, but after all that's why the basic iOS version is free, so that you can try it before paying anything.
The same issues would apply to the Mac version if purchased from the App Store, except that this does not have a trial version. Hwever, if you purchased the Mac version direct from AgileBits they can certainly arrange a refund.
Yes, 1PW does have a fairly steep learning curve at the beginning, but it gets easier and is very worthwhile. In fact, whether or not you stick with 1PW, I would highly recommend that you use some password manager.

I really just want to store some passwords and have it be safe. I don't think I need all the extra stuff. I can do that on the free app right?

Yes, absolutely! Security is a basic feature of 1Password; Pro Features just allow you a bit more flexibility to organize, customize, etc.
As danco mentioned above, Apple manages all transactions made through their App Store, so you'll need to contact them if you'd like a refund. We'd love to process that refund for you, but it's not our store so we literally can't.
