I'm having problems with getting my two Mac computers to use the same data file.

My Mac laptop is using a version of 1Password 6 (version 6.0.1) and is synched with the correct data file in dropbox: 1Password.agilekeychain. The name of the software is 1Password 6; the license says it was purchased through the Mac App store; but the info under "About 1Password" says "AgileBits Store."

I updated my 27" iMac through the Mac App store to 1Password 6, but the name of the software says 1Password (not 1Password 6) and it does not have the option for license in the pulldown menu. The problem is that this version, unbeknownst to me, was previously synched via iCloud and I need to change it to use use the same data file as my laptop. But the 1Password software will not allow me to synch to the 1Password.agilekeychain file used by the laptop. Instead it created a file call 1Password.opvault in a folder called 1Password under a folder called Apps. This opvault file has bad data imported from the iCloud data.

I need your help to connect my 27" Mac to the correct data file: 1Password.agilekeychain. I also am having problems getting my iPad to synch to the correct datafile. The little synch icon keeps spinning, but my computer indicates the 1Password.agilekeychain file is only 62.8MB.

1Password Version: 6
Extension Version: 6.0.1
OS Version: OSX 10.11.2
Sync Type: dropbox

    @KenHolmes

    Ok lets get the license bit out of the way. :)

    You must have purchased from the MAS originally. Then at some point you downloaded or moved to the web store version. This doesn't pose an issue to you. Having a valid license from the MAS (Mac App Store) will allow the web version to run on your Mac. The reason you do not see the license section is the MAS uses some app store internal licensing to prove its a valid purchase thru the MAS. The web store version can read and validate the MAS purchase receipt. That explains the license screen and the about screen mismatching. Running a mixed version system has no consequences as far as I know. However you may wish to decide on one avenue to keep things running smoothly. *When you submit a email to the staff as indicated below. Please let them know if you wish to align all your version top one store or the other.

    1Password is named "1Password" on the MAS and on the web store version it retains its version number example 1Password 5 and 1Password 6. The main reason is simplicity, for the user to tell which store they purchased from as well as the staff being readily able to tell which app they are working with during troubleshooting.

    I am thinking the easiest thing may be to ask you to email the staff, where they can give you a more one on one type of help thru email.

    If the staff happen along in the next bit they can always jump in here. But in the time being email support@agilebits.com including a link to this topic.

    You will receive an automated response from BitBot the automated attendant. That response will include a reference number. Please post back here with the reference number.

    Then no matter which avenue the staff get to first you are inline and waiting.

    Hi @KenHolmes,

    I'm very sorry for the delay! Thanks for sending your email - I found it and I'll update the email thread with details from this forum discussion so it's easier for our support team to get up to speed with the issue. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible with more information, and we'll keep the conversation going directly via email to avoid complicating things between here and there. Hopefully we'll get this all taken care of soon! :)
