Just set up 1Password on iPhone 5s but touch ID feature is not working
Have just installed 1Password on iPhone running latest OS9. Have tried various solutions after searching the forums, toggling on/off, restarting phone, but the unlock screen gives me a keyboard only, no option for touch ID.

@kwimper: To be clear, you will always need to know your Master Password to unlock your vault, as it will be required the first time after restarting before Touch ID can be used again in 1Password. However, if you're still having trouble getting Touch ID to work at all, there may be a deeper iOS issue.
You may be able to simply restart the device or re-set Touch ID (turn it off and then back on) to get it working, but there are a few other tips that you can try to get it working. Just follow these steps:
- Go to 1Password Settings > Security and disable Touch ID
- Go to iOS Settings > Touch ID & Passcode
- Enter the device passcode
- Disable the "Use Touch ID for" settings
- Hold the Sleep/Wake button and "slide to power off"
- Hold the Sleep/Wake button to power the device back on
- Unlock it with the device passcode
- Go to iOS Settings > Touch ID & Passcode
- Enter your device passcode
- Enable the "Use Touch ID for" settings
- Go to 1Password Settings > Security and enable Touch ID
Please let me know how it turns out. I look forward to hearing back from you! :)

I'm fine with the master password.
Thanks for the tip about trying to get Touch ID to work. Unfortunately it hasn't worked. Every time I lock 1Password I only get a keyboard, there is no Touch ID icon.

Just tried to reset again, and the touch ID worked once only. After I selected 'Lock now' and then tried to reopen 1Password it was back to the keyboard, no option for touch ID.

OK I think it's a bit clearer. Touch ID now seems to work when opening up the 1Password app. However it is not available as an option if 1Password locks. A bit frustrating as I have a long password to enter. Is this standard for the app (i.e. master password required every time 1Password is locked)?

Hi @kwimper,
If you use the
Lock Now
option 1Password will require the Master Password, regardless of what other security / convenience options are enabled. This is intentional. If you'd like to lock 1Password with Touch ID you can either enableLock on Exit
(and hit the home button) or wait for 1Password to reach the timeout set in Settings > Security > Auto-Lock.I hope that helps!
