When i click on the app on my iPhone the icon goes dark, a black screen briefly flashes, and the screen goes back to the home page. I turned my phone off and on, and when I did, the iPassword icon was gone (along with all my passwords!)

@DOR - I am going to move your post to the iOS section of the forum, since your issue is about that version, not the Mac version. You'll likely get more appropriate attention there.

In the meantime, tell us whether your data were being synced to Dropbox or iCloud. Do you have your data on anothe device, such as a desktop computer or another iOS device? Have you backed up your device to iTunes or iCloud? Or did you make a manual backup of your 1Password data to iTunes?

I do not have iPassword anywhere but on my iPhone. I backed up my device to iCloud the other day.

@DOR - Then your best bet is going to be to restore your entire phone from that backup. 1Password will return when you do that, but some users have had trouble with retrieving their data that way. If your data don't return, try restoring again.

When you're done, be sure to backup your 1Password data to iTunes using these directions: Creating and restoring 1Password backups in iTunes (iOS). Be sure you back your data up this way regulalry from now on. Whenever any application is deleted from an iOS device, all of its data go with it.

  • As hawkmoth alluded device backups are not great when it comes to backing up app data, particularly 1Password data. If you'd like to store your 1Password data on iCloud please enable iCloud syncing within 1Password:

    Sync | 1Password for iOS

It would also be wise to periodically follow the backup instructions that hawkmoth posted above.

    I hope that helps!

i downloaded 1Password from the App Store again, intending to reenter all my passwords. When I did that and opened the app, all my passwords were there. I mentioned it to our IT guy who explained what probably happened, but i couldn't repeat what he said. Anyway, I'm very relieved. Thanks for responding.

  • Thanks for the update @DOR. I'm glad to hear everything is working smoothly now. If there is anything else we can do, please don't hesitate to contact us.

P.S. It would still be wise to setup syncing & periodically create backups as outlined above. :)
