I never synced my app to iCloud, and I can't log into the app with my new phone. How do I access it?
My old iPhone screen cracked and I cannot use it (touchscreen is broken), unlock it, or see the screen at all. I got a new iPhone, however, 1Password says the only way I can access my existing vault is to sync with iCloud, Dropbox, or using wifi. Well, I never synced it with iCloud or Dropbox, and I'm not sure if I'd be able to sync using wifi from iPhone to iPhone.. plus I'm not sure if my wifi is even on on my old phone. I never synced it to my desktop either. I NEED my passwords! Is there any other way for me to access my vault?

Hi @jasminepowers,
I'm sorry to hear about the woes with your old iPhone. Without being able to use the touchscreen on the old phone at all, it may be a bit difficult to get data from it. I have some ideas. Let's see what we can do.
Restoring a Backup
My first idea is to restore a backup of your entire old iPhone to the new iPhone. If you had iCloud Backups enabled for your old iPhone (this is for the entire phone, not just 1Password) then it should have taken a backup every time you had your phone both plugged in to power and connected to Wi-Fi.
If you have a backup, it would be best to restore it. Apple has a really great guide on how to do this.
As the guide above mentions, you can also take a backup and restore it via iTunes on a Mac or PC. If you don't have an iCloud backup, you may be able to take a backup via iTunes by connecting the old phone.
iCloud sync
Another option is iCloud sync within 1Password. I know you said you had not done this, but are you sure 1Password never synced to iCloud? I ask because we encourage it pretty heavily when you first set up 1Password. Once it is set up it works automatically. I'd like to see if you have any 1Password data in iCloud that the new app can use.
- Open the
Settings
app on the new iPhone. - Tap
iCloud
, and make sure you are signed in. - Tap
Storage
. - Tap
Manage Storage
. - Under the Documents & Data heading, tap
Show All
. - See if there is an entry for either
1Password
oronepassword
.
If so, how large is the file size?
If there is 1Password data in your iCloud storage, you should be able to access it from the 1Password app. To do so, launch 1Password, and tap that you have used it before, then tap Sync with iCloud. 1Password should locate the data and ask for the Master Password.
Let me know if any of that helps out. I really hope you are able to recover your data from the older phone.
