Sync Problem: Attempted to sync with a different vault then originally configured

Hi - I'm running into this problem. Just upgraded to El Cap (clean install) and wanted to sync over Wifi from my iOS device back to my mac. I followed the instructions here https://support.1password.com/guides/mac/new-computer-wi-fi.html

On OS X (10.11.3), 1Password 6.0.2 (from AgileBits store)
On iOS (9.2.1), 1Password 6.2.2

I don't have access to my OS X backed up vault right now - is there something I can do to get this working?

Thanks.

  • Hey @alanp! Just wanted to check in with you here. :) Did the knowledge base article that Stephen linked to help out?

Hi - I've resolved my problem by importing a backup on my Mac. No, the referenced KB article couldn't help me - specifically because, at the time:

    1. "Reconfigure Wi-Fi Sync" didn't offer the possibility of "Disable Sync" (Sync was what I was trying to set up - remember clean OS X install with brand new empty vault)

    2. "Reinstall from the App Store" wasn't an option as I had no USB cable (hence my attempts to sync over WiFi!), so I couldn't back up from my device to iTunes... so therefore I couldn't reinstall and restore the data...

    Bit of a catch 22...

    Thanks anyway @Stephen_C and @penderworth

  • Thanks for the update, @alanp. Glad to hear you were able to get this resolved.
