When I open 1password on my iphone I receive the following message:

"Please make sure your device and your Mac have same date and time for Wi-Fi sync to work."

My phone and power book are 5 minutes off from each other and can't seem to get to line up.

  • Hi @socalguitar

Thanks for taking the time to write in. In order to sync via WiFi the time and date must be synced exactly between the two devices. A 5 minute difference will prevent them from syncing. The easiest way to ensure a precise time sync is to sync your time with an internet time server.

    On Mac:

    • Open System Preferences and select Date & Time (4th row).
    • Check the box for "Set date and time automatically."
    • If the box is already checked, but your time is off, try unchecking the box and re-checking it.
    • Under the Time Zone tab make sure your time zone is set correctly (either automatically using your current location or manually)

    On iOS:

    • Open Settings
    • Open General > Date & Time
    • Make sure "Set Automatically" is turned on and that the Time Zone matches the time zone on your Mac
    • If the time is still incorrect please try toggling "Set Automatically" off and then back on

If you still cannot get your time to sync up you may need to consult Apple for further assistance with getting your time synced, or switch to an alternate sync method that does not require precise time sync:

    Sync | 1Password for Mac

    Sync | 1Password for iOS

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Ben
