Total confusion re: Categories
I have recently installed 1Password on two iPhones and an iPad. On all three I only see 'Logins' available in Categories. I thought I had to purchase the Pro version to enable credit card and other options so I paid to upgrade. Only when I started reading the manual did I realise there should have been other Categories available from the outset. Paying seems to have enabled nothing new apart from allowing AppleWatch access. The app says I have paid for the Pro version.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? Thanks!

Hi @Eeyore,
sorry for the confusion with categories - only categories you already created items in are visible in the categories tab. But no matter if you purchased the pro features or not you can create credit card items.
1Password 5 for iOS is free for basic functionality including:
- Creating, editing and viewing Logins, Credit Cards, Identities and Secure Notes
- Syncing with other devices through iCloud, Dropbox and Wi-Fi
- Filling items in 1Browser, the Safari extension and in other supported apps
- Unlocking 1Password through Touch ID on compatible devices
- And lots more!
In addition, there are a number of Pro Features that can be purchased through a single in-app purchase:
- Creating, Editing and viewing all other categories, including Wireless Routers, Software licenses and more
- Organizing items with custom folders and tags
- Creating and accessing multiple vaults
- Advanced features such as viewing attachments, creating custom fields and more
To learn more, please have a look at the Pro Features FAQ in our knowledgebase:
https://support.1password.com/pro-features-faq/If you already purchased 1Password 4 for iOS, the Pro Features will be automatically unlocked when updating to 1Password 5 - no additional purchase is necessary! I think this might be the case for you as you see that pro features are purchased.
So if you want to create a credit card item you can do so by tapping on the plus button in the upper right corner of the categories tab and select "Credit Card". We also have a guide on how to create credit cards which I encourage you to read:
https://support.1password.com/guides/ios/create-credit-card.html
Hope that helps.

Winnie.. thanks for this helpful information. Although I'm surprised I missed the + button,
I have to say that I think it is illogical that login appears as a default category and does not require the + button to be used, yet the others do, especially since seeing the extra items appear immediately after the Pro version is purchased would be a useful visual confirmation of this. Also I can't see this mentioned in the iOS manual as well as there being some reference to the MacOS version of the product in there that makes things confusing and rather irrelevant if you don't have that version as well.
Thanks again for your attention in these matters.

Thanks for the feedback, @Eeyore. We use Logins as the default category & as an example because it is the most frequently used category, and the one that almost everyone who uses 1Password will end up using. That is why it shows up by default.
We make mention of 1Password for Mac (and other 1Password products) as though each product can stand on its own 1Password is very much designed to work in conjunction with its counterparts on other platforms.
I would've expected to find the information you referenced on this page:
Categories tab overview | 1Password for iOS
But you're right: it isn't there. I will definitely pass that, and the rest of your feedback, along to the appropriate folks.
Thanks!
Ben
