Unable to sync existing data on mac

I have 1PW installed on my iphone and macbook at work. I'm trying to install it at home and having no luck. To wit:
- I click on the app in my applications folder
- At the welcome screen I click on the "already have 1PW data somewhere else?"link
- At the next screen I click 'another device'
- The sidebar on the right has a 'more information' box which is the only option to click (other than to go back)
- I click on that link and the user guide opens
- I click on 1.2 or 1.3 - Both pages show a welcome screen that doesn't exist on my 1PW installation: "I'm New to 1PW" or "I've Used 1PW Before"

As I stated above, the only option is to open the user manual when i click on the 'more information' box.

My question is simple--How do I install the app?

Hey @pbedbug! We'd be happy to help you get things set up. :) First off, do you want to use your existing data at home as well? You can set things up anew if you don't need that data at home.

If you do want to use your work data, do happen to be syncing things anywhere? You mentioned that you have 1Password set up on your MacBook and iPhone, so if you're syncing things the data between these devices will stay consistent automatically. You may be using one of the sync methods listed here:

Sync options compared: Dropbox vs. iCloud vs. Wi-Fi

If not, the first step is to set up sync. You can refer to that same article to figure out which option works best for you. Once that's configured on your work devices, you can follow the steps in Using existing 1Password data on a new computer to add your existing data and you should be all set. Let us know how things go.

Thanks for the reply. I use icloud. However, there is no icloud option on the 'where is my data' screen on the setup wizard, like there is pictured on the manual you referenced. I am signed into icloud from this new device.

See my thread. You need to set up a vault - I used the same password as my existing one. That will make preferences available so that iCloud is an option for synching and then it is simple.

Hi @pbedbug ,

spock999 is correct. We are planning to add that option to "where is my data" soon. In the meantime, create a blank vault using the same master password as your other device, and then go into the Sync preferences and activate iCloud sync there.
