Hello!

I make a Backup from 1Password (Version: 3.7.2) from my iPhone (iOS 7.1-11D167) via the Backup-Function to my Computer Harddrive. The filename which was generated was 1Passwordxxx.1ptbackup

How can I import this Backup into my new installed (and empty / without data)

  • 1Password-Program which is running on my PC (Version: 4.6.0.598) or
  • 1Password-Program which is running on my iPad (Version: 6.2.2 / iOS: 9.2.1-13D15)

thnx for helpin in advance
Nick

  • Hi @Nick55,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. Unfortunately the answer, at the moment, is that you can't. 1Password 3 for iOS cannot sync with 1Password for Windows, and 1Password 3 for iOS backups can only be used on iOS. To make use of this backup you would need to import it into 1Password 6 for iOS (requires iOS 9):

How do I upgrade from 1Password 3 on iOS?

Then you can sync the data from 1Password 6 for iOS to 1Password for Windows using Dropbox (recommended) or WiFi sync:

    Sync | 1Password for iOS

    I hope that helps!

Ben, thnx for your support. Is there a way to import the 1password iphone-backup (1Password Version: 3.7.2 / iPhone iOS 7.1-11D167) which is saved on my computer harddrive to my 1Password-Program which is running on my iPad (1Password Version: 6.2.2 / iOS: 9.2.1-13D15)?

  • Hi @Nick55,

That may be possible, yes. You'd use the same instructions I linked above, but start at the "Rename your 1Password 3 backup" section and work from your iPad instead of your iPhone when following instructions for the iOS device.

    Thanks!
