I have an ipad pro and downloaded 1password and the Premium features as well thinking that I could later on I could sync with my Samsung phone but I can't make it work. I have obviously downloaded 1password on my Samsung phone as well but when I Tried to sync so that I don't have tomtype all my passwords again couldn't do it. I tried via dropbox but the vaults are different and my android device doesn't recognize orncan't find the ios vault in dropbox. What am I doing wrong or is it that this can't be done? I was under the impression that 1password could sync multi platforms. I'd appreciate your help. Thanx!

  • Hi @Tolengo67

I’m sorry for the confusion. I would love to help you get your iPad and your Android device syncing your 1Password data.

OPVault format has recently become the default data format in 1Password for iOS. In the past, we used the AgileKeychain format to sync your data. 1Password for Android only supports the AgileKeychain format currently, but we plan to add OPVault support in the near future.

1Password on your iPad has full compatibility with syncing your data using AgileKeychain! :) Here is what you will need to do to switch to the AgileKeychain format to sync your Android device. Please follow the steps in this order:

    1Password on your iPad

    1. Launch 1Password on your iPad.
    2. Go into Settings > Sync > [Vault] > Sync Service (Dropbox) > Disable Sync
    3. Confirm sync is disabled

    1Password on Android

    1. Launch 1Password for Android, and select I’m new to 1Password to create a new vault
    2. Go into Settings > Sync and enable Sync
    3. Select Sync using Dropbox, and give Dropbox permission
    4. 1Password for Android will not detect an AgileKeychain data folder, so it will ask you if you like to create one. Choose to create an AgileKeychain data folder
    5. Wait for 1Password for Android to complete creating the data folder and finish syncing.

    1Password on your iPad

    1. Launch 1Password on your iPad.
    2. Go into Settings > Sync > [Vault] > Start Syncing
    3. Select Dropbox, and choose the newly created AgileKeychain on Android
    4. 1Password may warn that there is a vault mismatch. Tap More Info and then Merge to combine your iPad data with your Android

And.. that's it! Your iPad and your Android device should be syncing with each other.

    I hope that helps!

    Ben

Thanks for the answer Bob...but still no luck. i followed all the steps and when I get back to the ipad and try to connect to the Agilekeychain created in dropbox, it shows a sign saying downloading encriptions but it quickly dissappears and then nothing happens.

  • I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

    (iOS) Sending Diagnostics Reports

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Ben

  • Hello @Tolengo67! I've received your diagnostic report and will be following up with you directly via email. Cheers.
