Folders for Families
I would like to know if Folders will be a feature possible for 1Password Families? I've used this feature with 1Password for sometime now and like to have logins organized by folders.
Thanks
Dave

Hi, @bullfish.
Thanks for your interest in 1Password for Families! Folders are not supported at this time, but tags are supported, and we've found them to be more flexible than folders. For example, you can add more than one tag to an item, while with folders, an item can be in only one folder at a time. That said, you can use tags just like folders and add only one tag per item if you want.
I hope that helps!

Thanks rob, I'll give that a try.

Let us know how it goes, @bullfish :)
@dahanbn, I feel like I'm following you around the forum saying, "I totally understand where you're coming from here!"
I totally understand where you're coming from here! I'm not sure that we have plans for something like smart tagging, but there are some cool things that we might do. When there's more to announce, we'll let everyone know :)

I've used folders for quite a while. Moving over to Families means my items are no longer organized. Tags are fine, but the issue I have is that I'd have to go through each item, hit edit, type the tag, hit save then move on to the next item. This is quite tedious. Anyway that a feature will be added to allow for tagging multiple items at once? Maybe that function already exists and I missed it...

Hi @Jason_Heglund,
Unfortunately there isn't currently a bulk tagging feature. We've had some discussion internally about tags & folders and hope to have a better answer to this problem in a future iteration.

I apologize if I'm out of line, but I think there is a bulk tagging feature...For folder xyz, can't you go into the "1st item" and create a tag "xyz"
Block select all the other items in the folder -- select the "2nd item", shift-mouse click on last item.
Drag selection to xyz (under tag section in sidebar).
I think you can do this by folder, and tags are additive...
I don't remember if tag names have to be unique to folder names, but that can be worked around.
At work right now, so I can't test, but I'm positive I've done that process before.
BTW, I use 1Password for Mac / Teams

Interesting! I'll have to try that out. Not out of line at all. :)

This is a fair point. Even the non-Teams/Families functionality is behind Mac/iOS in some areas, tags being one of them. As we've discussed a number of times in a number of threads our Windows team is largely aware of this. Mac & iOS have had a fairly large head start, both because they were our first products and because they have fostered larger internal teams of developers to work on them.
