Apple encryption issue

From what I understand is that that they want apple to turn off the key eraser after 10 attempts so their super fast computers can try and guess the master password.

I understand that 1Password uses password-strengthening algorithm” called PBKDF2 that is a type that slows down password guessing.

What type of algorithm does the later iPhones use?

Does the iPhone use software or hardware encryption?

If an iPhone user uses a password generator and the right length then why does it need a key eraser after so many attempts?
Is not 256-AES PBKDF2 good enough with out a key eraser?
I mean why does 1Password not use a key eraser?

I would think that it would depend on the random and length of the password. If a user used a not so good password then they could guess it except for the key eraser might kick in before.
I would think that if a good password is used then the key eraser does not change anything.
Does this sound right?

Please answer these questions.
