How can I move 1Password and my Vault file from my current Mac to my new Mac?
I use a MacBook Pro that is owned by the company I work for. I purchased 1Password and installed it on this machine. I now have purchased my own MacBook Pro for home use and I will no longer need 1Password on my work machine. How can I move 1Password and my vault file from my work machine to my home machine?
Thanks,
Keasley

More details, please.
It's easy enough to do, but the procedure differs slightly (both for the program and the vault) depending on whether you bought from AgileBits or from the Mac App Store

Hi @KeasleyJones ,
I think the easiest way to do this is with a backup. Try the following:
- Go to the Preferences in 1Password and click Backup.
- Click
Backup Now
- After it has finished, click
Show Files
and look for the new backup file. - Copy that file to a USB thumb drive or external disk.
- When you get home, install 1Password and launch it.
- It will ask you to create a new vault, but instead, choose
Restore…
from the File menu. - Insert your USB drive and find the backup file there. It should then restore and quit.
- Relaunch 1Password and enter your master password. You should see all of your data.
If you have any questions with the above steps, please let us know.
Cheers,

Thanks for your replies. Before I saw them I explored the Agile documentation more than I had before and found I was able to make the move using the Dropbox Synch approach. At first I tried iCloud Synch but wasn't able to do that since my work machine is not yet upgraded to OS X Yosemite (!) and I don't have the authority to do that upgrade. But Dropbox Synch was pretty easy.
Thanks again.

Hi @KeasleyJones,
Thanks for following up to let us know that Dropbox sync did the trick for you! That is indeed a great way to do it.
Sounds like you're all set, but we're always here for you if you should have any more questions. Cheers! :)
