Unable to sync mac 1password with my phone. Was using dropbox but none of the options work

Both my computer and my phone were stolen and my 1passcode on my computer seems to have been restored from my back up but my phone has not. It is asking me to choose a sync type. I was using dropbox before but that's no longer working...and neither are iCloud and wifi. Can you help?

Thanks for taking the time to write in. I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble setting up syncing, and especially sorry to hear that your devices were stolen. I'd be happy to help you get syncing going again.

Please try following these steps:

Sync with Dropbox | 1Password 6 for Mac

Sync | 1Password for iOS

If you run into difficulties while following one of these guides please let me know (1) which guide (2) which step, and (3) what the diffiulty is.

Thanks Ben,

I tried both the guides above but I'm working off 1password version 3 and it doesn't seem to have the sync option. I tried to move the backup to dropbox again and from my phone, choose sync to dropbox but when I choose the vault, I get an error message that says: The operation couldn't be completed (dropbox.com error 404)

Any thoughts on how to fix this would be great.

Somewhat similarly I'm trying to sync my replacement iPhone 6s with Dropbox as are all my other Apple devices. This time I'm being asked for the Dropbox vault password. Neither of the passwords I use with the hint are working. Now what?

Hi Ashley,

Unfortunately you may run into difficulties trying to sync 1Password 3 for Mac with 1Password 6 for iOS. Do you have the ability to upgrade to 1Password 6 for Mac?

Is it your Dropbox password, or your 1Password Master Password that you are being asked for?

Must have been too late last night, I probably wrote the (long) password incorrectly each time. Got it to sync all 305 items. Continued to show "synching" until I chose Dropbox as the sync service and when I got back to the Sync screen, it then reverts to "sync". Not a problem for me, a heads-up for you.

So nice to have 1P back.
