How to force an iMac todo a hard resync.

I was having a problem with my iMac not syncing. To get it going again I had to do the following.

   1P / Preferences / sync / "primary vault" / "sync with none"

I then did

 1P / Preferences / sync / "primary vault" / "sync with dropbox"

These steps seemed to unclog the pipes but with a little after affect. If any changes were made on the local machine 1P files then when the sync restarted 1P wold merge the two file changes. I guess this is good but you do end up with the old and new data in the files.

On the iPhone6 to do this I just turn off the iPhone and then do a hard restart.

Is there a better way to do a hard restart of 1P on the iMac?

Thanks

Robert

  • Hi Robert,

When you disable dropbox sync, you are given the option to remove the file from dropbox or leave it. If you leave it and reenable sync, then you will be merging with that file. If you want to completely start over sync, you must remove the file from dropbox when you disable sync.
