Why are the Master Passwords different in Teams to the ones in the app?

    Hi @PCrofts,

Thanks for writing in with your question!

When you originally setup the 1Password app on your Mac, did you choose to create a new vault, or did you sign into your Teams account? If you created a new vault during the initial setup, that would have created a local vault (called "Primary") which is separate from your Teams account, and has its own master password. The master password you chose for the Primary vault is the one you use to unlock the 1Password app on your Mac, and it sounds like you chose a different master password for your Primary vault than you did for your Teams account.

If you would like the master password for your Primary vault to be the same as the one for your Teams account, just open & unlock 1Password, go to 1Password > Preferences in the menu bar, then select the Security tab and click the 'Change Master Password' button. We also explain those steps here: How do I change my Master Password?

Does that help? If you have more questions about that, please let us know - we're here for you! :)
