I tried quitting and restarting Safari as the help article suggested but I am still getting the same "Safari can't install this..." message.

@jacreel: Hmm. I'm not getting an error here. Be sure to update OS X, as that may help (pr perhaps the reboot will). Regarding the problem you're having, can you be more specific? For example, are you installing from the AgileBits website or Apple's Safari Extensions Gallery? Please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from you! :)

I downloaded the extension form the Agile Bits website and then run it from my Downloads folder. Each time I do this I get a "Safari can't install this extension" error.

    Hi @jacreel,

I'm sorry you've been having trouble installing the extension in Safari!

Is it possible you already have the 1Password extension installed in Safari? If so, that can cause the error message you're getting when trying to install it again. From Safari, please go to Safari > Preferences and click the Extensions tab. Is 1Password listed there? If so, that explains the error message. Which version is currently installed in Safari?

On the other hand, if you don't already have the 1Password extension installed, and you're getting that error when trying to install the copy you downloaded from our own extension site, you can try installing it from the Safari Extensions Gallery to see if that works:

    • Open Safari and go to the menu for Safari > Safari Extensions...
    • If 1Password is listed at the top, click on that (if not, you can search for it in the 'Search' field).
    • Click the Install now link.

Please let us know how it goes, and if it's still a problem, we'll continue from there. Thanks!

Thank! It looks like I already had it installed. I have enabled it now an everything is working well.

    Greetings @jacreel,

Great to hear things are working properly now  One of the reasons for seeing that error is when Safari doesn't want to install a second copy of the extension. I slightly more detailed message in this instance would probably work wonders for explaining why it is stopping
