I have an iPad Air 2 with iOS 9.3. My 1Password master password is not being recognized. The password works on my iPhone and my Mac. Is this an issue with iOS 9.3 as this is the only device I have upgraded so far. If not. How can I update the password?

Okay. I'll answer my own question. I was able to sign in with my old password. I changed the way I sync from Dropbox to folder on my Mac but never did that on my iDevices. I guess that's why the old password still works? Not sure.

  • Hi @pwrmacbob,

Thanks for taking the time to write in! 1Password for iOS does not support folder sync. So, if your devices are not syncing, that would certainly explain why changing the password on one device does not affect the others. :)

I meant that I am now syncing to a folder on my Mac using wifi.

  • I'm not sure I follow, @pwrmacbob. Are you using Wi-Fi sync to sync your Mac and iOS devices? If so that isn't Folder Sync.

Folder Sync is a different thing, and should not be used with a network share:

"Folder Sync should only be configured with a folder on a local or removable drive (e.g. external hard drive or USB flash drive). Configuring it with a network volume (e.g. Time Capsule or other NAS) may cause problems if the device goes offline."

    Thanks!

Oh. Uh oh. I copied my 1password Keychain files from my Dropbox folder to a folder in my Documents folder (on my internal HD) and chose folder as the sync method. I thought when I click on sync it would be syncing to 1password on my iDevices.

I read the article "How to switch to Wi-Fi Sync". Don't I have to move my keychain file from my Dropbox folder to somewhere else on my HD? This is not mentioned in the article.

  • @pwrmacbob,

Folder and Wi-Fi sync are considered advanced options. If Dropbox sync is working for you I'd recommend continuing with that.

To get back on track with Dropbox please open 1Password for Mac's preferences and under Sync select your Primary vault and set the sync option to Dropbox.

If you'd rather use Wi-Fi sync (advanced) please set that same preference to "none" instead and then setup Wi-Fi syncing as outlined in the above guide.

    Thanks!

But where should I put my agilekeychain file? I wouldn't want to keep it in my Dropbox folder to do wifi syncing.

You don't need an agilekeychain file for Wi-Fi sync.

agilekeychain is only used for Dropbox syncing and Folder Sync.
