Purchased 1password mac + windows bundle February 5, 2012.
Since then upgraded a couple times to version 4 while running Mavericks on our Mac Mini (6,2) which is setup with 4 user areas. It all worked fine in each user area.
A couple days ago we upgraded OS X to El Capitan and now 1Password is a mess. Stumbled around with "upgrade available" and now seem to have single trial versions of 5 and 6 in 3 user areas.
Please advise.

    Hi there @Rt7e1941,

Thanks for asking this question, sorry that you are experiencing this!

I would recommend you quit 1Password from the gear menu in 1Password mini. Then from there just download 1Password from the AgileBits store https://agilebits.com/downloads. Otherwise the upgrade path might be a little wonky going from 4 to 6.

Then from there you can re-apply you license if it's no longer recognized. You can get a copy of license by going to this website and putting in your email address.

    Hope this helps.

Did that. How do I get the license number out of email?

    Hi @Rt7e1941,

If you need to copy that license code from the email, you can simply highlight it and press ⌘C on your keyboard (or go to Edit > Copy). You can then paste that into 1Password 3 to activate it.

However, are you asking how to use that license code to activate 1Password 6 for Mac? If so, the answer is that the license code only works for 1Password 3. Starting with 1Password 4 for Mac, activation requires a license file instead of a number or code. We have information about that here: If you see “Trial Expired” in 1Password

I tried searching our system for the email address associated with your forum account, and it looks like you have a license for 1Password 3 for Mac, but not version 4/5/6. If you think you may have purchased an upgrade to version 4/5/6 from the AgileBits Store under a different email address, you can have your license resent to you from the "I've lost my license" section at the bottom of our support site.

Or is it possible you purchased a newer version of 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store? In that case, we wouldn't have that information in our own system, but you can simply reinstall the Mac App Store version of 1Password (the "Trial Expired" message only appears for the AgileBits Store version). Just launch the Mac App Store, make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to make the purchase, and reinstall 1Password from the Purchased section.

If you never upgraded your 1Password 3 for Mac license to a 1Password 4/5/6 for Mac license and would like to do so, you can enter your version 3 license code on our Upgrade Store to see your upgrade discount.

Hopefully this helps, but let us know if you have more questions! :)
