when IOS synced everything is duplicated

in iOS

switched my vault on PC to OPVault format as per webpage instructions. All went well on PC. When resync on IOS to new OPVault after vault mismatch message everything got duplicated. How to correct this without manually doing several hundred items?

    Same thing just happened when I reconnected Sync on my OSX version - duplicates!! Why are there no clear directions on this - the webpage only address the Windows version with only a comment to "disable and renable syncing" on other devices - well guess what that doesn't seem to work!

    Finally got it straightened out. Restored a backup on Windows to remove duplicates. On OSX even after following all instructions on the website for removing data files it still would result in duplicates when resyncing to the new dropbox Opvault - had to wipe out most of the machine and started over. For IOS needed to delete the apps and reload from app store. It would seem that should be some kind of utility or easier path for this conversion since it seems that OpVault is now the preferred data storage format.
