Automatically lock after password is copied to clipboard?
Hi There
Can we add a feature where we can lock 1password immediately after a password is copied (or maybe if a special cmd-shift-c variant is used)? I'd prefer the inconvenience of putting my master password in many many times instead of the risk that I've walked away from my computer and 20x passwords were copied if I didn't lock it.

Thanks Stephen, I'm running Mac v6.1 .
While that is nice, it's still a 2-step option.. a nicer option would be to have this as a single step, quicker and lock step would not be done.
Alternatively, an option which can "lock" after X number of passwords were copied. Eg. if 1 password copy/revealed then lock, or 4 passwords copied/locked. That way if for some reason somebody for some unforeseen reason gets a hold of the laptop, the damage is somewhat mitigated.
Hell, maybe a log of which passwords were copied stored in the vault also, but that's probably creeping the scope of this request too much.

Hi @arbcat,
Thanks for the feedback. That's an interesting idea. I'm not sure that your scenario where your laptop is stolen is a good one though... if your laptop is stolen and your vault is unlocked, the thief would be able to go into Preferences and disable this option, no? I suppose to mitigate that we could put the lock settings behind a screen where you have to enter the Master Password in order to modify them. We'd have to think about that.
Cheers.

Maybe that's a good idea in general, a password to modify any of those lock settings.
If somebody gains access to the machine, they could "loosen" everything up with the current setup to gain access later.. I think this is a major security risk.

Hi Andrew ( @arbcat ),
Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m glad to hear that you’re thinking carefully about the security of your data.
Our goal at 1Password is to make security convenient, so I worry that adding a separate password to change preferences within the app would make things a bit complex. After all, we want you to only have to remember one password. ;) It might help if we shift the conversation here and talk about how we can currently protect you to ensure that someone is not able to gain access to your unlocked machine.
1Password’s Preferences > Security is a great place to start. I’m a big fan of the keyboard shortcut that Stephen mentioned above, but you can make it even simpler. Enable the option to ‘Lock when screensaver is activated’ and then set up a hot corner (in System Preferences) that turns on the screensaver whenever you move your mouse to the corner of the screen. It’s an easy way to keep your computer secure if you need to step away from your desk.
Please let me know what you think of this option.
