automatic sync only happens 1-way from mac to iOS via dropbox

I have 1password setup on my Mac with 2 vaults, a personal and shared vault, that sync via dropbox. I have my iPhone connected to the same vaults as the mac. When I make changes on the mac, they show up almost immediately on the iphone. However, when I add something or make changes on the iphone they do not show up, or sometimes they show up days later, on the mac. I have double checked that the phone is connected to dropbox correctly. It must be since the Mac-to-iphone sync works properly.

Example 1: I can create a test file on my mac. Within seconds it appears in 1pass on my iphone. If I then modify that record on the iphone, adding a note, then sync it, it does not reflect back on the mac version, even after I restart 1pass on the mac several times.

Example 2: I create a new record on my iphone. It never shows up in my mac 1pass, even after several mac 1pass restarts.

It seems the only way to get the items to sync completely is to quit and restart the iphone app. Using the "sync now" option in the settings does not seem to work, although it says it is syncing, then changes to "synced 3 seconds ago..."

So my question is: Should the "sync now" option in the app actually work, or do I need to quit and restart the app every time I want items created on the iphone to sync to my mac?

1Password Version: 6.2
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: OSX 10.11.4
Sync Type: dropbox

    Hi @kkphoto,

You should definitely not have to restart the app to kickstart a sync. I’ve done some testing here, and I think I might be able to see where the trouble is coming in. Are you using ‘All Vaults’ in 1Password for Mac?

In my testing, I found that I needed to switch from All Vaults to my primary vault to kickstart a sync and bring up the item changes. I’m curious to know if the same thing works for you.

I am having the identical problem on Windows 8. Sync from Windows to IOS happens almost instantly but sync from IOS back to windows only happens when I force close and restart 1password on IOS. Even going into settings and forcing a sync on IOS doesn't help.

I am using IOS 9.3.2 and an up to date version of 1password.

On windows 8.1 Pro I just downloaded the latest install of 1password from Agilebits for a new computer installation.

    Hi @vfr750sk,

I'm sorry to hear that you've bumped into some trouble. Do you have any Firewall or Antivirus installed on your PC? Often those get on the way with syncing and can cause issues (specially with the incoming information!) :chuffed:

The problem appears to be on the IOS side because if I force quit and restart the IOS app the changes get synced. I only have one vault so I don't have all vaults checked.
