Purchased a license, but now under 1password 6 I get a message that my trial has expired - why? I did not expect to have to purchase another license when prompted to upgrade from 5 to 6.

    Hi @jimgunn,

I hope you don't mind, I've edited (shortened) your username to protect your privacy here in these public forums.

Now, as for your question, I'm sorry for the confusion! You're right, 1Password 6 for Mac was a free upgrade from version 5 (which was in turn a free upgrade from version 4). If you have a valid license for 1Password 4, 5, or 6 from our AgileBits Store, you just need to add the license to the app. If you purchased it from the Mac App Store, you'll need to download the app from the Mac App Store. This support article should help you sort things out:

If you see “Trial Expired” in 1Password

I will note that I searched our sales records by the email address registered to your forum handle, and the only license I found for version 4/5/6 was deactivated due to a refund you requested and received in November 2014. So if you have an active license, it may be registered to a different email address or may have been purchased from the Mac App Store, as we don't have any access to Mac App Store purchase info.

If you do need to buy a new license, you can enter your valid version 3 license key to get a great discount at our upgrade store.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions. :)
