I have lost my password, and I cannot get it cleared and restarted.

I lost my password - and tried to do the steps to clear it and start over. But it didn't work. Can you help me, please?

    Hi @suzanneg,

    I'm sorry to hear you forgot your master password and are having trouble resetting 1Password in order to start over!

    There are slightly different steps to reset 1Password, depending on if you're using the AgileBits Store/website version or Mac App Store version (this is because they each store their data in a different location). If you followed the steps in our starting over guide but are still being asked for your master password when you open the 1Password app, please try starting over again, but this time follow the steps to remove data for both the website version and the Mac App Store version. (If you don't find some of the files mentioned in those steps, that's ok as long as you're looking in the right place.)
