Creating New Categories
Hi Guys,
I know you often get requests for the ability to Create New Categories. I'm guessing that must be very difficult with your software layout or you'd already be offering it. And you guys are very creative with your suggestions on how to use existing Categories for special needs. Kudos for that. :-)
But we REALLY do need the ability to create our own categories, or templates, or something. For example, I'm currently using 'Servers' as a category to track all of my computer equipment, serial numbers, support contracts, etc. That was working, but now that I have more than a few servers I'm wanting to use that category as it was originally intended.
The ability to add new Categories would be AWESOME and I hope to see it very soon!

Hi @DennyS440,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback!
Have you taken a close look at the Secure Notes category lately? We’ve added custom fields and the ability to add custom icons too. This makes Secure Notes one of my favourite categories, as I can pretty much store anything there: hardware information, tax stuff, you name it! Read this blog post for more ideas:
Secure All the Things in Secure Notes
Of course, custom categories are still something we hear requested frequently, and I’m happy to add your vote to the request in our internal tracker, but I hope this helps you in the meantime!

Hi Megan,
Wow! Talk about a fast reply! Thank you... You guys rock.
I looked at Secure Notes again and it's an ok way to go... For now. Thanks for pointing me back there, since I hadn't been in Secure Notes in a while.
The ability to create custom categories would take 1Password to a whole new level of awesome. I think you would find a lot more people shifting over from other products like I did (eWallet) when you add this feature, since it exists in so many other apps.
Thanks!
Denny

Hey @DennyS440,
Thanks for the kind words! I've added your vote for this feature to our internal issue tracker for our developers' consideration. Much appreciated! And thanks for switching to 1Password. Keep being awesome! :)
