Failure of reinstalled 1Password & Knox for Mac to work
Because of problems with operation of 1Password & Knox I uninstalled both on my change to a iMac R 27 last year. Having decided to try again last week I downloaded both apps from the AgileBits website. While Knox icon appeared it would not open. iPassword opened requesting my password while the mini icon would not allow a password to be entered. My attempts at re use were also frustrated by forgetting the passwords. Fortunately I obtained all information prior to uninstalling so nothing lost. How do I start again?

If we're referring to 1Password 4/5/6 for Mac and the goal is a fresh start with a brand new vault then our guide, How do I start over with an empty vault? is what you are looking for. At the end you will be able to create a brand new vault, choose a new Master Password - basically 1Password will behave as if it was never run before.
Does that help with the 1Password aspect of your query?

Thank you for your help so far. Despite several attempts to solve the problem as advised, I still am being asked to enter my master PW. Furthermore unable to obtain additional info on my mac as it doesn't exist. I can confirm I now have 1Password 6 6.2.1 on my mac. So please, what next?

If you've attempted to follow the steps in that guide and you're still experiencing issues I think the best way forward would be for us to take a look at a diagnostic report and see if anything stands out.
