Bolting 1Password
How come 1PW extension (Safari) stays open all the time, when I click the ext. icon? I have all the concerning items tagged! So it should bolt after a log in, but it doesn't. Not like before! I'd like to have it bolted when not in use(!), so no-one could use any of my passwords (like, I assume, is the main goal of this app!).
Thanks for your help,
Kind regards,
Wim

Hey there @wimgroenier,
I think I can help you with this.
You can easily lock 1Password by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Lock" from the menu that appears.
But if you want a bit better security you should review Preferences > Security and review some of the options to auto-lock 1Password.
For example "Lock after computer is idle for x minutes" is an option that you can have 1Password lock automatically when you're not using your computer. Feel free to tweak the amount of time it takes to lock to attain a balance between security and convenience.
"Lock on sleep" and "Lock when screensaver is activated" are also good options that I'd recommend you activate if you want to have 1Password locked more often.
Hope this helps.

Hello Nathanvf,
Thanks for the indicative support, but these were the things I already checked/had done!
The fact is that I bought a new iMac, the way 1PW has always worked was the way I wanted, and learnt from the manual: it locked after having used it! Now, I have to relock it every time manually (by chosing 'lock' at the 'wheel'. Maybe it has something yo do with Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)?

Hey @wimgroenier,
It used to do this on the Mac? I know that the iPhone/iPad version is capable of that, where when you leave the app it will lock. But I don't believe that it has done this on the Mac for a fairly long time.
Do you know what version of the Mac app behaved this way?

Hi Nathanvf,
No, I don't know what version, but to me it's always been that way. Have been using 1PW for some years now. With the last version I have this problem!0 -
Hi @wimgroenier,
Do you still have access to the old computer so you can check to see what the set preferences were?
It's possible if it was a much older copy of 1Password the preferences could be different.
To find out what version of the app you can go to 1Password and click the 1Password Menu > About 1Password. It should open a small window and display the version of the app you have.
