Why Has Lenient URL Matching Been Removed?
I had been having problems on the Credo Action website. I had created a shortcut to fill in Name, eMail & Zip on any Credo petition page. It worked for quite a while, then stopped. Then I realized that the Lenient URL matching pref is now missing in 1Password v6.3.
Is Lenient URL matching now an always on feature, or was the feature removed. And if it was removed, why?

Hi @go2jo,
This post by @jxpx777 should explain what's going on there: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/299563/#Comment_299563

Okay. Thanks for that. But the URL matching is still not working correctly.
I have this URL set as the "master" Credo to populate 3 fields.
http://act.credoaction.com/sign/
So if I go to a petition that has the URL:
http://act.credoaction.com/sign/xxx_yyy?t=2&akid=17732.2949596.tLGh17
... and hit the Command \ shortcut, the fields use to populate. They don't any longer.
So is this a 1P issue? It was my understanding that as long as the URL contained at least http://act.credoaction.com, Lenient URL matching would see http://act.credoaction.com/sign/xxx_yyy?t=2&akid=17732.2949596.tLGh17 as a page it could act on.
Is that incorrect?

Sorry for the trouble, @go2jo. The old "Lenient URL matching" setting was simply renamed to "Allow filling on pages that closely match saved websites". But the behavior is the same as it was before. It pertains to subdomains, so I think it is a red herring in this case, since the subdomain (
act
) is the same for both the URLs you listed. That said, I can't seem to get either of those URLs to load a form that 1Password could possibly fill. The longer one appears to have been modified, so I didn't expect that one to work. However, when I visit http://act.credoaction.com/sign/ I am told:
The page you are looking for has been moved or deleted. This page will automatically redirect to our home page.
Could you help me take a look at a working sign-in page, so I can better understand the issue?
In the meantime, I'd recommend following the steps here to save a new Login manually:
That may do the trick. If not, I'll dig deeper once I can get on the same page (literally and figuratively) with you. :)
Cheers!

Here's a couple working Credo URLs:
http://act.credoaction.com/sign/chemchina_syngenta
But of course 1Password was updated to Beta-9 (630009) and now it seems to be working.
Nope spoke too soon. Here's a Credo URL where I can't fill in my info with my 1P shortcut.
Maybe 1P has become sentient and will refuse to fill out forms it doesn't believe in? Not sure. ;)
Glad I could find ones that worked & didn't. Let me know what you find.
Also attached a screen shot of my 1P Credo shortcut. Thought maybe that might help too.
Thanks!

Ah! I think I see the problem, @go2jo. There actually isn't a sign-in form on any of those pages. The use of "sign" in the URL threw me for a bit. My brain was seeing it as "signin".
Now that I look at the pages, I would recommend creating an Identity item you can use to fill your name, email address, and ZIP code. (You can include other details as well. They just won't be filled if the page doesn't have a place for them.)
I have an Identiy item that I create years ago, and when I select it, 1Password correctly fills my name, email address, and ZIP code on those CREDO pages. :)
Let me know if that works for you, too.

Funny, that it works on some pages and not on others.
It's easier for me to create a Keyboard Maestro macro/shortcut so I can assign it a keyboard command. It's all good.
Thanks for all your help.

If you don't mind reporting the exact URLs where it is failing, we would love to know so we can take a look and see why. The ones I looked at all worked. I would suspect the form fields to be the same, so that comes as a surprise to me.
Otherwise, if you have another solution and don't want to bother with this, that's totally okay. Whatever works for you.
Cheers!
