iCloud syncing problems

I'm having 2 problems that may or may not be related.

  1. Some records are not syncing between my Mac's. I've tried the new record but they don't show up.
  2. Syncing to my 2 iOS devices also not working. I don't see 1Password as an option under iCloud sync settings on these devices. Have tried to turn syncing on/off

1Password Version: latest
Extension Version: latest
OS Version: el Capitain
Sync Type: iCloud

    Hi @mmax,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with iCloud sync between your Macs and iOS devices!

You said you're using the "latest" version of 1Password, but that could actually mean different things. I'll assume you're using version 6.2.1 on your Macs and version 6.3.1 on your iOS devices (those are currently the latest stable versions for those platforms), but if you're using something different on any of those, please let us know.

Assuming you're using the versions I mentioned above, let's start by checking the sync settings to make sure iCloud sync is set up properly:

    On each Mac:

    • Open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
    • Click the Sync tab and make sure iCloud is selected for your Primary vault.
    • If it shows a different sync option or says None, set up iCloud sync by following the steps here: Sync with iCloud (Mac)

    On each iOS device:

    • Open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync > Primary.
    • Make sure it shows the Sync Service is iCloud.
    • If it shows a different sync service or says Start Syncing, set up iCloud sync by following the steps here: Sync with iCloud (iOS)

Let us know how it goes. If iCloud sync wasn't enabled on any Mac or iOS device, does enabling it solve the problem?

Mac's both running 6.2.1; iOS both running 6.3.1

iCloud is set for primary sync on all devices. (mac's also have wifi enabled)

    Thanks @mmax!

Are you sure you're using the same iCloud account (i.e. the same Apple ID) on each Mac and iOS device? If you're using a different Apple ID/iCloud account on some devices, that would certainly explain the problem.

If you're signed into the same Apple ID on all devices, there are a couple more suggestions in this knowledgebase article which might help: If you’re having trouble syncing with iCloud

You should also try restarting each device if nothing else helps. After the restart, open 1Password and see if the sync works.

If you try those things but nothing seems to help, let us know and we'll continue from there. Thanks! :)

I'm sorry to hear that you are still having trouble, @mmax. If you have already tried everything else in the support article that Drew linked to above, the last thing there is to "Get more help". Part of that includes generating a Diagnostics Report so that we can dig deeper. If possible, generate a Diagnostics Report from each Mac and iOS device you are trying to sync.

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!
