I've added the exceptions to the ports, tried to change the proxy and I have Avast antivirus which seems to be a problem? I'm using windows 10. I still cannot get the browser icon to work. It's there but everytime I click it I get the error "code signature could not be verified" I'm not sure what to do from here. I've restarted the computer and at this point I've read so much I am not sure what the next step is. I'm not computer savvy at all! ACK! PLEASE HELP!
Thanks,
Chrysee

    Hello @chryseec,

There are a couple of bits of information that will greatly help us here.

    1. What version of 1Password are you using?
    2. What browser are you experiencing this problem with and what version of the browser do you have?

It will give us a base to work from while we help you resolve this

Sorry it was late and I was fried! I bought the 1password license and I'm using Chrome. :)

    Hello @chryseec,

So the good news is it should work, now we just need to find out what's causing the problem.

If you've visited If 1Password cannot fill an item in your browser because its code signature could not be verified and it hasn't helped then I would recommend sending us in a diagnostic report and we'll see if we can spot anything.

This guide will show you how to create the diagnostic report.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums

The email address you will want to use is support+forum@agilebits.com.

When sending the diagnostic report to the address above it would help immensely if you could include a link to this thread and your forum handle so we can connect the two.

Once you've sent the report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. With access to the report we should be able to better assist you

Ok, In trying to run the diagnostic per the instructions, I tried this instead. I unchecked the verify web browser signature. It now works. I don't know if I missed something somewhere but is that ok?

    Hello @chryseec,

While that will technically work what you're doing is disabling that particular security feature. The intent behind it is so you're reassured that the browser you're running is a legitimate copy. 1Password does contain the browser code signatures for the popular browsers so you shouldn't need to disable it for Chrome. The choice is yours of course but we'll happily help you in working out why we can't verify the signature if you're happy to send in a diagnostic report.

Is there an actual phone number I can call?

    Greetings @chryseec,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. There isn't a phone number you can call I'm afraid. Our primary methods of communicating are via our public support forums and via email. The request for the diagnostic report would take you from our forums to email once we can get it to work.

Here is what I would like you to try.

    1. Check for any pending system updates to Windows. To double check that there isn't a problem I launched a VM that has Windows 10 installed. I don't use it often so there were pending updates. Windows refused to load up my Desktop or let the Start menu show as a result suggesting some really weird operating system behaviour can happen. All of that disappeared after installing the updates and the only way to access the system update window was via Cortana.
    2. Re-install a fresh copy of 1Password 4 for Windows over the existing one. You can download a fresh copy from our AgileBits Download page. Re-installing over the existing copy won't affect your vaults.
    3. Restart your PC.

After doing these does it make any difference to the code signature issue (doubtful but you never know) but more importantly can you create a diagnostic report now?

No, after following the instructions above it's still the same. Now what?

I'm not sure what changed but I was able to get the diagnostic to work all of a sudden! So I sent the diagnostic report.

Thanks, @chryseec. Can you post the ticket identifier that you should have received from our autoresponder so we can make sure we have received the report? Thanks!

Thanks, @chryseec. We got the report. I am going to ask one of our Windows specialists to take a look. They should be in touch soon via email.
