Master Password
Since the last update for iOS the app keeps reverting back to needing the master password to open it. After that the pin works but the following morning need master password again.
I have not turned off my iPad, or rebooted it - it is on 24hrs a day so no reason for the app to keep reverting back to needing the master password.
Anyone else having this issue?

@Darkangelwitch sorry to hear you're having this problem.
If you go to Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password, you should be able to select Never. This will make it so that you can use your Touch ID every time you launch the app. (If Touch ID fails, you'll be asked for your Master Password.) If it's already set to Never, you can change it to another option, then switch it back to Never, and that should take care of the problem. I hope that helps! :)

Won't let me post a reply, keeps truncating

Ok let's try agin in another browser ........
My iPad doesn't have Touch ID, it is an older model that uses a PIN number.
Before the last update I only needed to enter the master password if the iPad had been rebooted or switched off, if the iPad was only in sleep mode then it opened with my pin.
Now it asks for the master PW after a few hours sleep mode - very frustrating

@Darkangelwitch sorry for not being clearer: Touch ID and your iPad's PIN are controlled by the same setting. So if you follow the steps I outlined above, that should make it so you're asked for your PIN instead of your Master Password when you launch 1Password for iOS.

I understand what you are trying to say but I haven't changed my security set up since the update. Picture below is my set up and is basically says the pin is used unless I get the pin wrong in which case I would need the master PW.
This is not what is happening, it is reverting to master PW after being on sleep mode for a while whereas before the update it could be on sleep mode for hours and still opened on the pin.

I just checked and the Advanced/Security was set to Never so as a test I have set it to on device restart - will let you know if that fixes it

Hi @Darkangelwitch,
Changing the Advanced > Security > Require Master Password setting to a non-never setting and then back may help. Please let us know how it turns out.

Wonderful, changing the advanced security to "after restart" worked - didn't need master PW this morning yaaaaay

This is really annoying! Before update the MasterPW was needed just on reboot or switch off. Now Touch-ID works just for 2 Minutes. After that I am asked to input Master PW again. setting the switch for MasterPW off and on did not help. Please restore old functionality!

Try what I did, go to Settings / Advanced / Security and change Require Master Password to "After Device Restart"
It worked for my iPad so worth giving it a go

Hi @Darkangelwitch, I'm glad to hear it's now working! With computers "rebooting" (in a wide sense of the word) tends to do wonders! Thank you for the advice given to @sabomnim. Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you!
@sabomnin, can you please try this and update us on whether it solved your issue? :chuffed:

No it works as I am used to :)0 -
@darkangelwitch @sabomnim I'm glad everything is working again for you both!

Isn't it confusing that in order to be asked to enter the master password less frequently we need to change a setting which is already on never?
(I also didn't change any settings after upgrade but found I was being asked for my master password every day, which never used to happen.)

@nmott well, whilst the fix worked it wasn't permanent - iPad is back to randomly asking for master password - having looked at a few other threads this looks like a glitch that you need to fix as it is affecting lots of people both with touch and non touch.
Please let me know if your techies are looking at this and I will be patient until next update

Have the same issue since last iOS upgrade. However I cannot apply above fix since I no longer have the option to change "require master password"
Any suggestions?0 -
@Darkangelwitch: Based on your screenshot above, you may still have 1Password set to "Lock on Exit" in Settings > Security. Be sure to disable that if you don't want 1Password to lock immediately when you switch away from it.
@pwagenaar: Does the above apply to you as well?
@oldmankit: I'm really sorry for the confusion there! We made some significant changes to locking and the settings, so they simply don't line up neatly with the way you had it setup previously. That's why in some cases (based on how things were setup before the update) it's necessary to re-set things. If you're still having trouble, be sure to let me know and we'll get it sorted out for you! :)

@brenty - yes I do have lock on exit but if I don't then the pin doesn't work. I am sorry but this is something you seriously need to look at, it has only been happening since the last update so something has gone screwy.

When you are asked for your Master Password is there a Touch ID icon (fingerprint) just below the Master Password entry box? If so tapping on that will bring up the PIN entry prompt.
We do have a known issue where this sort of thing is happening more frequently than it should, and we hope to have that fixed up soon.

Yes there is a finger print

Great. As I mentioned tapping on that should get you back in business for now. We do hope to have improvements to that behavior available soon.
