Verification number for credit card on Macbook

While setting up a credit card on 1Password on my Macbook there is a field called "verification number". 1Password offers to fill this with the password generator but I am wondering - is this supposed to be the 3 digit number on the back of the credit card?

    @robodog your hunch is correct, that field is used for the three-digit number found on the back of credit and debit cards. :)
