TouchID not working on iPhone 6 Plus

In Settings > Security, I have Touch ID turned on. It was working fine until 2-3 weeks ago. Now, when I start the 1P app, I am prompted to key in my full password. I am not prompted to use my finger print. I followed the instructions in the following thread, but it did not resolve the problem.

Further suggestions pls?

    Hi @pomme4moi,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues that you're having with 1Password. If you go to Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password, you should be able to select Never. Try doing this. If it already says "Never", please change it to something else, for example "After device restarts".

Please let us know how this goes! :chuffed:

Thank you, but I don't understand how this fixes the problem. I want 1P to fully lock every time I exit the app, and to require the password (via Touch ID) every time I re-enter the app ...

@pomme4moi changing that setting, as @Pilar suggested, will make it so your Touch ID is required when you re-enter the app. Here's another thread where people had a similar issue, and following the steps we outlined resolved the problem: "Master Password." Please give it a go and let me know if it works :)

I tried the "Never" suggestion. Still experiencing same problem. Other ideas?

  • @pomme4moi,

I'm not sure what you mean by the "never" suggestion, but if you change the 1Password > Settings > Advanced > Require Master Password setting to a time based value, and then change it back to your desired value, that should take care of this.

Please let us know how it turns out.

Still seeking a solution pls. The problem is still there, but is intermittent. Sometimes the 1P app requests my Touch ID fingerprint, other times 1P requests that I enter my password.

I followed Pilar's advice and did Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password. I changed the setting to 1 hour, then back to Never.

Then I followed bwoodruff''s advice (essentially the same as Pilar's), but still have the issue.

I've also restarted my iPhone a couple times, but no improvement. Next thing to try?

If it helps, here are my settings: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53682537/1P.png

Do you notice it asking for your password after any specific events or scenarios that you could describe for us? Or does it seem totally random whether it asks for the password or Touch ID?

I deleted the 1P data and app from my iPhone, then re-installed it and re-synced it. Seems to be working now ...

Well, I thought I had this problem licked, but it has returned. Doing a full reinstall did not solve the problem, so I assume I have a setting wrong somewhere. The proposed solutions in this thread also have not solved the problem.

When I enter my master password, it seems to work ok for a while. Not sure how long, a few minutes to a couple hours. Then, instead of prompting me for my Touch ID fingerprint, it reverts back to asking me to enter my master password.

Again, here are my settings: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53682537/1P.png

    Further advice please? Thanks

    @pomme4moi

Can you please goto 1Password > Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Log Settings

Please enable "Lock" and "UI Lock"

Then the next time this happens please send a diagnostics report in:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!
