iPad and iPhone do not match, even after Stop Syncing, a Start Syncing cycle on Dropbox

I think i stumbled into a glitch that happens when the number of additional fields gets high. I have ten App-Specific passwords for my Apple ID, and when I added the tenth on my iPad, I got a freeze. I restarted 1Password and things looked ok, but the new stuff does not appear on my iPhone.

I did a Stop a Sync, Start Sync cycle with another devices to make sure I was pointing at the same folder. I got a Merge warning, where the left hand side was 100% identical. I merged anyway.

1Password Version: 6.4

    Hi @BetweenTwoParks,

I'm sorry you ran into a problem with that item after adding some new custom fields!

There shouldn't be any problem adding a tenth custom field, so I'm not sure why the freeze happened. However, it sounds like maybe that freeze caused a problem with syncing that item via Dropbox. If that item seems to be ok on your iPad, you can try deleting and recreating the sync file in Dropbox to see if that helps. Before doing that, you should backup your data as a precaution. You can create a backup file and save it to a computer by following the steps here: Creating and restoring 1Password backups in iTunes (iOS)

When you're ready, just follow these steps:

    • Sign into your Dropbox account on the dropbox.com website or in the Dropbox app on either iOS device.
    • Find and delete your 1Password sync file/folder (.agilekeychain or .opvault).

On your iPad and iPhone, 1Password should stop syncing when it realizes the sync file was removed from Dropbox, and will give you an error message about that on each one (which is expected). You can follow these steps to re-enable Dropbox sync:

    • On your iPad, open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync > Start Syncing.
    • Choose Sync with Dropbox and follow the rest of the steps (this will create a new sync file in Dropbox).
    • Allow Dropbox to complete the sync.
    • Once the sync is complete, re-enable Dropbox sync in 1Password on your iPhone, choosing the new sync file you just created.
    • Choose to merge if prompted.

Please let us know how it goes, and if it's still a problem, we'll continue from there. Thanks!

The 1Password 6.x beta vanished from my Mac OS X 9.3.x beta. I downloaded the release version of 1Password, but it says that my data format is newer.

Is there a direct link for the 1Password beta installer?

This happened after I deleted the sync file from Dropbox to cure a previous problem.

@BetweenTwoParks: Tha's really strange. Do you perhaps have an overzealous "cleaner' app installed? You can download the latest beta from our update site. Please let me know what you find!
