Tried import from 3.6.5, got Unknown File Type error. Extension rename is correct.
I'm trying to migrate my data from v.3.6.5 to v.6.
I tried to import my renamed backup file from v.3.6.5. I got an Unknown File Type error in v.6. I assumed I had miss-typed the extension rename, but I checked, and the extension rename is correct.
My old version also now prompts me that it wants to export my data to v.4, which I don't have.

Thanks for the reply.
Here's a direct copy-paste:
1Password0100-20160517.1pt3importI changed the extension, but the rest was named by 1Password.

Interesting--I don't know what all that is after the second "." Maybe that's the problem? Not sure how to get rid of it.0 -
@Li7a: This may seem like a silly question, but I have to ask it. If I don't we might go on a wild goose chase here! :)
Does the file, in fact, have a
.485284808
extension on it? Before you answer, be sure to double check! Whether you're using OS X or Windows, it's possible that the extension is simply hidden there, but it should be visible if you view the file properties. Please let me know what you find!0 -
It does not appear to have that extension. In properties, it says the file type is "1pt3import", and that is what shows as the extension. Those numbers don't appear. They only appear in the app when I try to import it.

@Li7a: Thanks for checking. Very odd indeed! I'm sorry for the trouble here.
At this point, the best thing to do will be to setup logging (as described below), restart your device, try the import, and then generate a diagnostic report and send it to support+forums@agilebits.com so we can look at the logs to determine exactly what is happening:
Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)*
*In 1Password Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Log Settings, enable App, Agile Keychain, Cloud Keychain, Crypto, Database, Replicator, and SQLite.
Just be sure to include a link to this forum thread and your username in the email so we can 'connect the dots'. Also, knowing your timezone and the date/time you tried the import will help us find it in the logs. Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Just an update--I did all the requested logging, and sent it in, along with details about my browser etc. The current suggestion is that I install a new browser (Chrome) and repeat all the steps--I'm on a PC and am using Firefox. I can't do it until I'm in a place where both devices are on the same wireless network. I'm grateful that the replies have been quick, but so far this has been incredibly time-consuming and unproductive! I would stop trying, but the old version I have is not compatible with my current phone iOS, and it crashes every single time I use it.
