backup failures
I keep getting a dialog box which says backup failed. When I physically back up it does so immediately. What can I do to automatically back up?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your backups. Could you please tell me for how long you've been having this problem? I'd also like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac, I think that will help us see what's wrong here so we can help you better.
