I still don't know what to do! The question relates to "1Password warning: This is an unsecured HTTP

I have had this message on other sites and have just pressed 'cancel'. Please help. The menu bar displays only the main name of the site and there is no 'htpps' or 'http' showing, but the login on 1Password shows 'htpps'. I am not technologically savvy, as you can tell.

It sounds like the site you’re going to doesn’t automatically redirect you from the insecure (http) protocol to the secure (https) protocol. Just try changing the address in the web browser (Safari?) to use https.

    1. Click into the address bar (or press ⌘L)
    2. Change the address from http://www.somesite… to https://www.somesite…

Do you have bookmarks for that site that use the http protocol?

    1. In Safari, go to Edit → Edit Bookmarks (or ⌥⌘B)
    2. Find the bookmark you would like to edit, right click → Edit Address…
    3. Change the protocol to https.

And if you don’t have bookmarks for the site, it might be a good idea to add them now – stick it in ‘Favorites’ then use either the Favorites Bar (⇧⌘B) or Sidebar (⇧⌘L). Easy to get to, no more typing and no chance of ending up on a malicious imposter site.

    Hi @topofmilk,

I hope that the advice that @neeklamy has helped you! It seems that for some reason some of the pages are being accessed by a less secure version of the webpage, so making sure you are on the https should help you.

Please let us know how this goes for you :chuffed:

Thanks very much! Although some of the advice was not quite right for me I managed to rectify the situation and everything works now. I have attached the bookmark in Favourites and one other site.
