[Feature Request] iOS Swipe to Switch Vaults

I have recently moved in the world of multiple vaults and love it! However, switching between them on iOS is a bit of tap overload. Has there been any work or discussion around a quick swipe up with two or three fingers to switch vaults? I do not know of another feature / shortcut that is in the application that is utilizing the gesture, but I do know of other apps that use features like this [I.E. Tweetbot - change between Night and Day mode] - wish I had a better link, but CNET will have to do for now. 8-)

Thoughts?

    Hi @cwanja,

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts here - I’m so glad that you’re enjoying multiple vaults, it’s one of my favourite features in 1Password. :)

I’d like to better understand how you are currently switching vaults in 1Password for iOS, because it should be as simple as two taps, which I hope isn’t too overloading:

    • Tap the vault icon in the top left corner of the screen (by default it will be a ring of coloured circles - your All Vaults icon).
    • Tap the vault you wish to switch to.

The suggestion of swiping is definitely interesting, and I can see it being useful for people who have two or three vaults, but on last count I’ve got 24 (between shared family vaults and a good collection for work stuff), and I think it would take me ages to find the right vault by swiping back and forth!

Since you’re interested in quick and easy access to the data that you need, I wonder if you’ve done much exploring of the All Vaults feature. All Vaults is what saves me from having to search through those 24 vaults every time I need an item. By default, the All Vaults view will include all of your vaults so that you can see all of your data without going back and forth between the different vaults. This is really great if you’ve got a couple vaults - one with your personal information, and one full of shared family data, for example - but it can get a bit overwhelming if you’re sporting 10+ vaults. So, All Vaults is customizable. In Settings > Vaults > All Vaults, you can select which vaults you want to show up in this view. For me, I can keep my personal and family information (and the one vault of work data that I use on a daily basis) quickly accessible, while hiding all the information that I only need occasionally. With All Vaults, I rarely even need to use the vault switcher, because everything I need is right in front of me.

I hope this helps you customize 1Password to make it even more powerful for your purposes. :)
