Can I reload 1Password for iPhone from Time Machine?
My iPhone 1password app. stopped allowing Touch ID. I could not use password to enter program. Reloaded program with no luck. Can I reload 1Password for iPhone through Time Machine back up somehow? If I reloaded iTunes could I put it back on to my iPhone?
Thanks!

Hi @GregLig
Sometimes, you’ll need to enter your Master Password instead of using Touch ID:
- If your fingerprint isn’t recognized three times in a row
- If you tapped Settings > Security > Lock Now
- If you’re trying to change your Master Password
- If Require Master Password is set to After Device Restart in Settings > Advanced > Security, and you’ve just restarted your device
- If the amount of time in Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password has elapsed
Whilst this doesn't answer your question, have you recently changed your Master Password on another device that uses the same sync/ method (same vault) as the iPhone does? You may want to try a previous password that you may have used.
My guess would be that even if you restored from a iTunes backup, 1Password would still ask for the Master Password as the device has been 'restarted' if you will - it may be worth a try though.

Hi @kylerphillips,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble accessing 1Password on your iOS device!
As kylerphillips mentions, there are some times where you will have to enter your Master Password on your device. Touch ID is designed to make it easier to access your 1Password data after you have authenticated with your Master Password. It’s not meant to replace the Master Password entirely.

You can always reinstall 1Password from the iOS App Store. However, reinstalling the app is not going to solve the problem. First of all, if you are not syncing your 1Password data to another device using Dropbox, iCloud, or Wi-Fi, your 1Password data exists only on your device, and deleting the 1Password app from your device will delete your data as well. Second, when you set up 1Password for the first time, you will need to enter your Master Password to access your data. There’s no way around that.
So, let’s see if we can solve this another way:
- Have you lost or forgotten your Master Password?
- Is your Master Password not being accepted?
- Are you syncing your 1Password data to another device?
- If so, is your Master Password accepted there?
