Sync of secure notes inconsistent across platforms
I created a secure note on my Mac which I have synced to my iPad and iPhone (via WiFi). Typically I will perform all updates to the note on my Mac then sync to the other devices. Today though, I edited the note on my phone. I got back home and sync'ed with the Mac . . . . . and the updates didn't appear on the Mac at all! Even weirder, I now have two copies of the note text on the iphone -- the "orginal" from the Mac as well as the updated copy. I sync'ed the iPad and the same thing happened - 2 copies of the text in the same note one with the new updates and one with the Mac version.
I updated the Mac copy and sync'ed to both devices and in the Mac portion of the dual text, it was updated but not in both copies of the text.
This concerns me. Why wont the iPhone updates for secure text update to the Mac? I haven't tried changing a PW from the Iphone/iPad but should I worry that they don't update to the Mac as well?
Thanks
1Password Version: OS X-6.3.1
Extension Version: iOS-6.4.2
OS Version: OS X 10.11.5 / iOS-9.3.1
Sync Type: WiFi

Hi @rotfl333x3 sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I want to make sure I'm interpreting your problem correctly. Is this right?
- You created a Secure Note on your Mac that was synced to your iOS devices via Wi-Fi Sync
- You edited the Secure Note on your iPhone
- Instead of syncing the changes, 1Password created a new item with those changes on your iPhone
- This behavior appeared on your iPad as well
- You edited the Secure Note on your Mac and those changes were synced to the original item on your iOS devices
This concerns me. Why wont the iPhone updates for secure text update to the Mac? I haven't tried changing a PW from the Iphone/iPad but should I worry that they don't update to the Mac as well?
I don't think this should be a problem, but you can always check by creating a test login on those devices and seeing if it syncs to the others. That's what I do when I troubleshoot problems -- all the benefits of testing something, none of the drawbacks of using real data!
Once you confirm or correct my interpretation we'll see if we can't get this fixed :)

Very close except for your #3. When I sync'ed two separate things happened. 1. The changes did not appear on the Mac copy of the note. It was as if nothing happened. 2 on the iOS devices, a new item was NOT created. Instead, in the original (existing) note the full Mac copy of the text was copied as well as the full (changed) copy of the text from the iPhone. In other words I have two sets of text in the same note, one with changes, one without.
On #5, when I edited text on the Mac and sync'ed to the iOS devices, I still have two copies of the text, one is the Mac "version" with its changes and the second is the "edited" version from the iPhone.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi @rotfl333x3,
Thanks so much for clarifying! So you’re seeing one notes field, divided by a dashed line, and above the line is the initial note text, and below is the edited text.
If so, this sounds like expected behaviour when handling conflicting edits. There are times when an item is edited and 1Password is unable to determine which edit happened most recently. In cases like that, 1Password will save both versions of the data to make sure that nothing is inadvertently lost. If you go edit the item and remove the duplicated information, the next time you sync the item should show up correctly on all your devices. :)
