1Password won't fill username and login at Citibank website.

1Password won't fill username and login at Citibank website. Manually creating new 1Password entry per knowledgebase instructions doesn't help. If I cut and paste the username and password from 1password into the Citibank website by hand, the login works fine, so it's clear that the username and password that are loaded into 1Password are correct -- but somehow 1Password isn't able to enter the correct information into the Citibank website.

Citi Bank Credit Card - I continue to have an issue at https://online.citi.com/US/JPS/portal/Index.do.... The user id box fills in with nothing but the password box does get filled. This access point - https://accountonline.citi.com/cards/svc/LoginGet.do works fine. The problem is when Citi sends an email with a link it directs you to the first address above. This problem has been going on for a long time. I did check my 1Password info and the user name is not censored with **, 1Password just doesn't fill the user ID box. The problem is only isolated to this particular website login https://online.citi.com/US/JPS/portal/Index.do.....

    Safari 9.1.1
    Mac OS 10.11.5

This problem has been ongoing before these browser versions and OSX versions

@Dustin66: Actually, 1Password does fill the username...but the site clears it afterward. :unamused:

Thank you for mentioning this though! The email link is something I'd never noticed, and this is a semi-daily thing for me. The reason I didn't encounter this myself is because I follow an important tenet of internet security: never click links in emails. These can be spoofed using Javascript, or can simply be close enough to the URL we expect to be able to fool us.

This is actually really important, since anyone can send you a phony phishing email, made to look like it's from a legitimate source, with a link to their own malicious site meant to capture your login credentials — perhaps something like online.citi.co.mu/US/JPS/portal/Index.do. Fortunately 1Password can help by not offering logins that don't match the actual URL, but in a frustrated rush some folks might copy and paste their login credentials manually.

But you're right that many people are likely to encounter this particularly problematic login page if they're following links in emails, so I'm glad you brought it up.

Indeed. I've spent a lot of time on this myself, as have my other teammates here at AgileBits; and unfortunately while there isn't a way for 1Password to fill here without it being cleared by the page, we'll keep trying and there are alternatives in the mean time. Cheers! :)

@lyric: If you're interested in more detail about the issue with this particular login form, please see my post above.

However, if you simply want a workaround for logging into Citi with 1Password, just follow the steps in my other post and you'll be all set. And we're here if you have any other questions — or simply want to commiserate with a fellow Citi customer. Love their services, hate their website!

Brenty, I appreciate your feedback and there are other login access points within the Citibank system that work just fine.

    Thank you...

@Dustin66: Indeed! Mercifully there are fewer now than there once were. I think there were at least 7 at one point as recently as last year, but most of them redirect now to one of (I believe) 3. 2 out of 3 ain't bad, but we're hoping to crack the third one someday.
